Craps feels like like a hard to learn game, and it certainly can be, however you don't need to know all of the nuances to play it well and receive a fair return. If you stick with the general bets with a small house edge and do not bet when you are not certain what it is you are betting on and its odds.

By wagering on the pass line and purchasing odds you can bet with approximately no casino edge. This almost makes the expression 'gamble' wrong if you think it over.

Pass Line

The contest begins by placing a bet on either Pass or Do not Pass before the first roll. If a 7 or 11 is rolled first you come away with a win and two, 3, or 12 means you loss if you wager on pass. The opposite is true if you place a bet on Do not Pass. With the exception of 12 which is a push if you bet Don't Pass. Most all gamblers places a bet on Pass, so if you choose Do not Pass, don't draw attention to yourself, especially if you win. If you come away with a win then everyone else just lost, and aren't going to like any flaunting. Should any number besides 2, three, 7, eleven or 12 are tossed 1st, that number becomes the point. Do not bet on the Pass line after the Come Out throw, it's allowed, but the odds are against you.

Buying the Odds

In order to take control of the wager with almost no house advantage, you must at first bet on the Pass Line. Next you will be able to bet a multiple (dependent on the betting house) of your Pass bet that the point will be tossed before a seven. Depending on the number of the point, you can earn up to two to one.

Betting along these basic lines will provide you with a real chance of coming out a success. Add the excitement that the craps always appears to generate and the only way to be deprived of it is not to play.
